$375,000 - Settlement - Premises Liability

Our client, a professional chef, tripped and fell over a dangerously high front door threshold which was three times the height allowed under the Philadelphia Building Code.  His ankle fracture and post-traumatic arthritis required surgery and an ankle fusion.  Our client missed over a year from work and was unable to return to his pre-injury position as a chef. Even though the evidence showed that our client had walked over the threshold hundreds of times before the accident, the case settled on the second day of trial after I opened so strongly that a juror cried during my opening argument.
